ABSTRACT
Lesu dam is a rockfill dam, having a reinforced concrete mask in upstream, 61 m in height and it performs an accumulation of water for more than 30 million cubic meter. The water infiltration, during exploitation, reached today over than acceptable limits. So, it was decided, according to a Technical Expertise, to have refurbishment works of the dam, as follows: a) waterproofing of the upstream concrete mask; b) strengthening grouting performed in the underground gallery; c) strengthening grouting from the ground surface; c) dam foundation drainage system, after the underground grouting; d) underground grouting gallery rehabilitation; e) monitoring and warning alarm system rehabilitation; f) surface rehabilitation of the dam g) protection of riverbanks riverbed downstream of the dam; h) equipment rehabilitation.
