ABSTRACT

The tunnel of Wang-Pei interval underpasses 6 residential buildings in a concentrate manner. The construction time of buildings is mostly from the 70s to the 80s of the last century. It’s very difficult to control subsidence and protect building. This paper uses PLAXIS 3D to simulate the construction. The calculation results and the monitoring data are compared. The results show that: (1) the building is slightly raised firstly; (2) then rapidly settles when tunnel passes; (3) slightly lifted before settlement stable; (4) the building is slightly inclined towards the central axis of the tunnel; (6) the maximum settlement is 14.1mm, which is consistent with the initial monitoring data. And this project adopts monitoring program of automatic and manual monitoring, and developed a real-time detection technology for grouting behind segment by using radar, timely grouting again to reduce the ground loss. Eventually, “micro settlement” was basically achieved and the building was well protected.
