ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on various available trust computation methods for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) which can be adaptable for Flying Ad-hoc Network (FANET). FANET is a subclass of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs). In FANET, a group of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are communicating to execute a given task. Trust is the belief among two or more communicating parties. Trust is defined differently based on its utility in that domain. Trust management is about creating the trust, evaluating the trust values, and updating trust and revocation. Trust initialization is the first step in the trust management system. When two nodes start interaction, first time they have either no information or very less information about other nodes to decide trust. In mobile ad-hoc networks, trust computation involves various stages. The stages can be classified under different sections based on their purpose.
