ABSTRACT

Our planet has been bestowed with abundant natural resources, some yet unexplored, unfortunately depleting fast! Medicinal plants were found highly efficient in their antimicrobial properties, which could be related to their inherent components as flavonoids, tannins, and alkaloids present in varying amounts. Antimicrobial efficiencies of medicinally signifi-cant plants were compared with the help of inhibitory zones and their inherent components extracted and identified with the help of analytical techniques. Present deliberation includes five medicinal plants along with their parts, known to have antimicrobial activities checked for their antimicrobial effects against common pathogens causing human infec-tions. Efficient extracts showed encouraging inhibitory activities against common and burns wound pathogens. Wide biodiversity existing on earth has always been helping us in combating various existing and upcoming microbial infections, developing due to the human interference with nature. Protecting, preserving, and propagating helpful species, so as to manage our bioresources for the future generations should form our moral responsibility.
