ABSTRACT

The suggested blade-type rods stability computation method is based on the analysis of changes in their stress-strain state with time in the course of loading with a longitudinal impact force. This method is applied to study two types of shock loads: short-time and long-term ones. Their comparison is carried out on the basis of a unified design scheme and a unified approach to the adopted solution of the rod stability problem. The design model built takes into account technological deviations, elastoplastic properties, detailed geometry, rod hinging. The solution of a geometrically and physically nonlinear problem is carried out in the LS-DYNA software package in a dynamic formulation using volumetric finite elements.
