ABSTRACT

The work deals with possibilities of a ferromagnetic orientation of the steel fibres in a transparent gel within the magnetic field. An aqueous solution of ultrasound gel (sonogel) with a percentage addition of the steel fibres was chosen and prepared in this experiment as a suitable replacement for the UHPFRC (Ultra High Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete) mixture. Both mixtures are very similar in their rheological behaviour. A simple functional model has been constructed to ensure a uniform movement of the sample through the magnetic field. The model consists of ferrite rings and neodymium magnets. This system of magnets generate a magnetic field that should have very similar shape as a field generated by the electric current coil. The steel fibres are gradually oriented in the created magnetic field. The final position of the fibres was evaluated according to the magnetic field axis (by the direction of movement).
