The ‘skeleton curve’ as a tool for seismic risk analyses of buildings

The paper presents and describes in detail a new procedure devoted to the seismic risk assessment of buildings located in the Italian territory; the procedure could be extended to seismic hazards different from that of the Italian territory and to types of constructions other than the Italian ones. The seismic risk class to which building considered belongs, in the pre and post-intervention state, is obtained by the ‘skeleton curve’ corresponding to the considered building.
