ABSTRACT

The purpose is to reflect the style composition and assertion in the collections of the female clothing brand from Bahia, Elementais, by articulating its creations elements from the diverse cultures which compose the hybrid Brazilian imaginary, from the region Northeast and the state of Bahia. In the dialogue between local culture and fashion design, the analysis is devoted to the comprehension of fashions that can handle this multiple environment that set Bahia in plural, constituted in its essence by miscegenation of the three races: black (Bantu and Sudanese mainly), white (Portuguese mostly) and indigenous. But a Bahia connected to the world. This connection is submerged on its formation and permanent natural condition of Colony (economical, social and cultural dependence); nevertheless a connection in movement, configurator until nowadays and enlarged by the countless digital network, that tear down and also build borders and ties in a quotidian marked by universality.
