ABSTRACT

The proposal of this article is to revisit a creative practice of the author, articulating with concepts of strategic design that were not initially used to construct the final object—clothing for the discipline of alternative material. The intention is to dialogue with some authors who seek to understand the practice of design projects that start with a design problem. The interfaces of this creative process are present in the work of alternative material that was developed at the undergraduate level, in which to give vent to all the author’s yearnings and thoughts, it was necessary to have a perspective that was broader than simply building clothes. During the processes to solve the problems present in the activity, there was a redirection, a resumption of the initial problem, where decisions were made, and some variables were corrected, helping to improve the process, in the search for a solution of the design problem.
