ABSTRACT

This paper attempts to illuminate the importance of bringing social justice into research in education. It tries to see what social justice means and what the people can do as an educator and a researcher to include the subject into their teaching and research practices. In order to understand why the people need to include social justice into their research, the people need as Wiedenhoeft et al. argue address inequities and inequalities around the reader, thoroughly analyse imbalance power structures in society, and analyse the impact to daily lives. Hence, it is very important for teacher training institutions like UPI to induce critical thinking and social justice into their curriculum. Once a teacher is having social justice awareness, Hackman proposes five essential components a teacher should have. This paper attempts to elaborate the need to bring social justice into educational research. It believes that the main task of education is to bring changes to society.
