ABSTRACT

One of the sources of income and economic growth forweavers in SajinganBesar, Sambas Regency, Indonesia comes from the production of handwoven crafts. These crafts are in the form of chairs, furniture and household handicrafts. Although there are characteristics that distinguish woven crafts from the Indonesian and Malaysian border, there is a claim for patent rights. This study aims to explain the development and marketing potential of woven crafts through Intrapreneurship and realize economic democracy based on two models. Data was obtained through two sources: secondary data and in-depth interviews. Secondary data was obtained from related institutions, while in-depth interviews were conducted by interviewing plaiters, the Head of Chemical and Multifarious Industrial Crafts of Sambas District, the Trade and Industry Office of Sambas Regency, the Village Chief of Kaliau, weavers and community leaders of SajinganBesar. Qualitative descriptive analysis was performed on the data. The results of this study found that intrapreneurship plays a role in striving to improve competitiveness, develop production and develop capabilities of weavers. Through intrapreneurship, weavers are given the means to develop productivity of their woven crafts throught implementation of the first model, (intrapreneurship model of the creative industry for the woven craft agribusiness sector) and the second model (government development of woven crafts by providing easy access to intrapreneurship funding, patent protection, and improvement in the ability of human resources) as an effort toward economic democracy.
