ABSTRACT

Problem-solving skill is one of the cognitive aspects which should be enhanced by young children since the obstacles occur in their daily activities. The achievements of this ability depend on teacher’s pedagogical skills and teacher’s accuracy to apply the teaching methods. The effective approach to develop problem-solving skills to young children is project-based learning. It encourage them to get the opportunity to improve observing, asking, collecting information, analysing information and communicating information. This chapter is a literature review which examined and analyzed the textbooks and journal articles about problem-solving skill and project based learning approach through manual and online seeking. This chapter could be used as a reference to early childhood education teachers in order to develop problem-solving skill for young children.
