ABSTRACT

This study aims at determining the relationship of parental communication with conflict resolution, parental communication relations partially related to interpersonal intelligence and the relationship of interpersonal intelligence with conflict resolution as well as to determine the relationship of parental communication and interpersonal intelligence with conflict resolution in the kindergaten of Aisiyah Butsanul Atfhal, Magelang City. This research was done with quantitative approach and correlational types. It is to reveal the influence of parental communication skills towards children interpersonal intelligence and conflict resolution in kindergarten. This research can be categorized as ex-post facto which reveals the reality or symptoms of occurred events and has implications for various subsequent actions that are estimated as the object being studied. The researcher did not give any treatment on the variables. The results of this study showed that all null hypotheses (Ho) are rejected and all alternative hypotheses (Ha) are accepted, with the details as follows. Hypothesis 1) relationship (R) was 0.356 and obtained the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.127, which implied that the relationship of communication and intrapersonal intelligence was 12.7%. Hypothesis 2) the relationship value (R) was 0.534 and the determination coefficient was obtained (R2) of 0.285, which implied that the relationship of parental communication with conflict resolution ability was 28.5%. Hypothesis 3) relationship (R) was 0.520 and obtained the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.271, which implied that the relationship of parental communication with conflict resolution ability was 27.1%. Hypothesis 4) relationship (R) was 0.640 and obtained the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.410, which implied that the relationship of parental communication with conflict resolution ability was 41%.
