ABSTRACT

Cross-laminated bamboo (CLB) is an innovative engineering bamboo panel product made from gluing layers of solid-sawn bamboo at perpendicular angles. Owing to the excellent structural rigidity in both orthogonal directions, CLB becomes a preferred construction material for shear walls, floor diaphragms and roof assemblies. The bending property of CLB panels were investigated and the effects of thickness of panels and numbers of layers on bending behavior were compared in this paper. It shows that CLB panels have strong flexural bearing capacity. Under the same conditions, the larger the thickness of panels, the more the number of layers, the better the bending behavior.
