ABSTRACT

An otherwise healthy 2-year-old boy is brought to the emergency department from a neighborhood birthday party when his mother noticed acute onset of coughing, drooling, and dysphagia after the children had emerged from playing in the basement. His mother suspects aspiration, but the episode was not witnessed by an adult. A chest x-ray is obtained.
