ABSTRACT
A 10-year-old boy with no significant past medical history is brought to the emergency department with shortness of breath after a motor vehicle crash. On arrival he developed progressively worsening shortness of breath and hypoxia, and was found to have significantly decreased breath sounds on the left side. He was intubated and a chest tube was placed. His chest x-ray and abdominal CT are shown next.
