ABSTRACT
A 6-year-old male presents with abdominal pain. His mother reports that he has had diffuse abdominal pain for 1–2 days with infrequent, hard stools. She denies a history of constipation, fever, localizing pain, vomiting, trauma, or urinary symptoms. She reports she has been giving him a few over-the-counter medications for his pain without effect.
