ABSTRACT
As the ship’s navigation areas are expanding, a variety of hydrological conditions put forward higher requirements on ship propulsion system from different aspects, such as strength, environmental protection, energy efficiency, draught and so on, which makes new propulsion devices constantly emerging. How to ensure the safety of each device in operation is a problem that every verifier needs to solve. In recent years, China Classification Society (CCS) has conducted research on various propulsion devices and propulsion methods relying on national research resources, and has preliminarily formed a verification system for different propulsion devices. This paper takes polar propeller, semi-submerged propeller and straight blade propeller as examples to introduce the verification system and verification tool, aiming at providing reference for the relevant organizations in this industry.
