ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews the state-of-the art with respect to the impact that cultural diversity has on team interaction, with an emphasis on the context of spaceflight. In doing so, we seek to document what is known as well as what the future holds for research. As research that explicitly examines the impact of cultural diversity on team interaction within the context of spaceflight is limited, we also leverage research conducted outside spaceflight and consider the characteristics of long duration, long distance exploratory missions to make predictions.
