ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on a few conditions that a pediatric orthopedic surgeon will encounter in his/her routine clinical practice. While a detailed description of these conditions is outside the scope of this book, this chapter aims to discuss the salient points that must be considered while examining children with these conditions. The chapter will touch upon a few metabolic bone disorders, inflammatory and infective pathologies, disorders of the wrist, child abuse, surface-marking of peripheral nerves, etc. Many textbooks of pediatric orthopedics and pediatric medicine provide further details. The chapter also discusses surface-marking of peripheral nerves of the upper and lower limbs.
