ABSTRACT
This article defines the essence and main tendencies of the influence of the social environment on the development of scientific potential in Russia. An increasing number of countries focusing on innovative means of development makes it necessary for Russia to integrate into this worldwide trend, keeping the most intelligent human capital and, above all, the scientific potential of researchers. As a result, Russia needs both to ensure the most effective use of available scientific potential and to stimulate its capitalization and commercialization. At the same time, it is important to invest in innovative development of the scientific potential of researchers who are the main generators of innovative ideas, which allows to dominate in business, based on an innovation sphere. Analysis of the impact of the social environment on the development of scientific potential allows forecasting certain trends, including the number of researchers, research organizations, postgraduate students, and other indicators.
