ABSTRACT
Soil animals (i.e., fauna) are represented by a diverse array of creatures living in or on soil for at least a part of their life cycle. Soil animals can be classified according to body size, where they inhabit the soil, and feeding activity. This entry discusses the effect of these animals on soil composition, condition, and ecosystem interactivity.
