ABSTRACT

This article proposes an approach to extend an elasto-plastic soil model into the time-dependent analysis of high rockfill dam. The key feature of the model is the incorporation of a creep model and the double yield surface elasto-plastic model, via modifying the hardening functions. The incorporated model is implemented into ABAQUS, an FEM program through user defined subroutine. The model and its implementation are validated by a laboratory multistage creep tests of both sand and rockfill.
