ABSTRACT

A high efficiency and foldable silicon solar cell module is demonstrated. The experimental module consists of nine silicon solar cells glued at a soft Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) polymer substrate and coated by a PDMS wrinkle reflective (AR) film. The large-scale nano-wrinkle AR film is fabricated by a simple and low-cost plasma surface oxidation method. Optical measurement and electrical characterization show the nanowrinkle AR film can reduce the front-side reflectance and improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency of solar cell modules. Interestingly, the silicon solar cell module encapsulated with soft film is foldable, which can be mounted on the curved surface of some outdoor equipment and tools, such as, car roof and illumination tools.
