ABSTRACT
Two Diffractive Optical Elements (DOEs), namely chiral Fresnel zone plate and chiral axicon, were designed according to the principle of zone rotation in order to generate chiral beams with rotating intensity patterns. The DOEs were introduced in an optical-trapping experiment to trap and rotate yeast cells.
