ABSTRACT
With the massive damage inflicted on the environment by humans throughout history, the earth’s ability to support sustainability has been obstructed to very serious levels. This chapter aims to provide an integrated approach to sustainable environment development, which will be of interest not only to graduate students but also to environmental activists who are exploring ways to enrich the sustainability of vital resources for all living species on earth. The chapter begins with a concise description and examples of what “green engineering “and “environmentally conscious development “are about, followed by an introduction to each of the six vital spheres of the environment. The main theme of the whole chapter is based on following up three fundamental principles: cleaning up the damage to the environment already done, changing the current way of using vital energy resources and devising new technologies to conserve the remaining vital resources. All the technologies discussed represent various green technologies that are responsible for restoring and repairing the whole environment in the most energy-efficient and sustainable way.
