ABSTRACT

Microtubule (MT) polymer is one of the most abundant proteins in the body and one of the three main components of cells framework. This protein is responsible for bearing different loads on the cells and providing the necessary force to alter the cell proliferation, spontaneous migration, and the division of a cell. Also, MT plays a key role in internal transportation in the cells. Therefore, studying the vibrational behavior and mechanical properties of MTs is a significant issue which has attracted many experimental and theoretical researches toward itself. In this research, the study of mechanical and vibrational behavior of MTs is performed using molecular dynamics simulation and exact coarse-graining methods.
