ABSTRACT

This research aimed to analyze students’ scientific literacy based on environmental cognitive using Nature of Science learning method. This research involved 33 students at the 2nd grade in high school. The research methodology was qualitative, which using several instruments such as questionnaire, observation and scientific literacy test. Nature of science learning method used to develop science knowledges and science skills especially to solve problems that relevant in daily life. The research show that 21% students had higher scientific literacy, 57% students with medium scientific literacy skill and 21% students had lower scientific literacy skill. Based on the result, that students’ in the classroom had medium scientific literacy skill. The Nature of Science learning method show the positive result to help students’ understanding about science knowledge based on environmental cognitive.
