ABSTRACT

From the beginning the systemic-structural activity theory (SSAT) has concentrated on the general principles of the self-regulation of activity and the morphological analysis of activity.

In this work we consider the mechanisms of self-regulation of such individual psychological processes as perception and memory. Cognitive psychology describes psychological processes as the stages of cognition. SSAT considers cognition as a process, as a structure of cognitive actions, and also a stage of activity self-regulation. The structure of the externally perceived situation and the structure of memory are dynamic and can change in a subject's mind. The self-regulation model of memory is presented in this paper. This model includes the intellectual block and motivational mechanisms that interact with each other through feedforward and feedback interconnections. The self-regulation model of perceptual process is also presented and described here.
