ABSTRACT
The technology of retrieving models from a model library is important in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Industrial Design (CAID) andComputer-AidedManufacturing (CAM). Existing models in the library may be used as a reference for design reuse. The user can utilise old designs in the process of designing a new CAD model, which will decrease the designer’s time and costs. Model similarity calculation is very important in CAD model retrieval. With the development of CAD technology, many scholars, both inside and outside China, have conducted a large amount of research on model similarity calculation.
