Lansium parasiticum is a fruit tree species that belongs to the Meliaceae or Mahagony family. Various parts of L. parasiticum exhibited anti-plasmodial activity toward Plasmodium falciparum. Eurycoma longifolia Jack is a plant species that belongs to the Simaroubaceace family. In Borneo the species can be found throughout the island, especially in natural areas. Carica papaya L. is a popular cultivated fruit species throughout the tropics. An aqueous extract from the young leaves of C. papaya has been used to treat various diseases including malaria.
