ABSTRACT
The three years JCOLD-CFBR collaboration confirms the main interest of the valorization of earthquake records through the comparison with numerical modeling, allowing significant improvement in the comprehension of concrete dam dynamic behavior and modeling. Other sources of validation can also be considered regarding scientific key points, providing the engineer with more confidence in numerical validity. The aim of this paper is to make an overview and to discuss these different opportunities and also to point out further development and collaboration needs.
