ABSTRACT

There are a number of physical impairments which don't fall under the broader categories of spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy/acquired brain injury or amputee. This includes short stature, leg length difference, multiple sclerosis and osteogenesis imperfecta. These impairments have received little attention in the literature and each has unique characteristics that require familiarity with the athlete. This chapter describes the more common of these impairments and provides an overview of the nutrition-related knowledge we have on them.
