ABSTRACT
The title of this talk is “Emergent Properties and Behavior of the Atmosphere.” By way of introduction, I am an atmospheric scientist or meteorologist. I originally intended to become a weather forecaster, but I changed course in graduate school to become the academic equivalent of what I originally intended—a professor who performs weather-related research. Thus, I am visiting as an emissary or a representative of the weather-research community.
