ABSTRACT

This paper introduce the possibilities offered by the European navigation satellite system Galileo. Galileo observations can be used for data processing separately, or can be combined with Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). ITMS permanent stations network has been extended by some other permanent stations from the territory of Slovakia and the surrounding areas. Observations of all GNSS are available in RINEX3, at selected permanent stations. Precise Point Positioning (PPP) and Relative Positioning (RP) were realized using Bernese GNSS software. Different ambiguity resolution strategies were applied. In both approaches (PPP and RP) was realized multi-GNSS data processing with combination of GPS, GLONASS and Galileo and individual solutions. Coordinates comparison of each daily solution from 1 March to 30 April 2017 in consideration of the selected reference position of permanent station was performed and transformed to the local horizontal system (n, e, u). Based on the results of this study Galileo accuracy is not yet at the level of fully operational GPS and GLONASS systems and results also confirmed possibility of Galileo-only positioning in geodetic applications.
