ABSTRACT

This paper presents the possibilities of using modern methods of spatial visualization in surface mining. Currently, as a documentation according to official regulations are used the mine maps. Their disadvantage is that these are static two-dimensional maps to show the status in the certain point in time. In our research, we focused on the use of modern means of expression of dynamic computer cartography applied to visualize of progress of mining works in quarry Lehotka pod Brehmi. Our goal was to create a 3D model of locality, including geology, based on available mine surveying documentation.
