ABSTRACT

To assess the current condition of a bridge and make predictions about its expected lifetime, many manual on-site work is still required today. For reasons of cost, characteristic values are not measured continuously but only on a random basis and are often replaced by assumptions. In this paper, we introduce the cyberBridge platform, which is currently being developed to create an online bridge assessment system with automatic data analysis and engineer-friendly visualization of bridge damage. The goal is to use the platform to model the condition of a bridge in near real-time, and thus to be able to make more accurate forecasts at low cost over the expected lifetime of a bridge.
