ABSTRACT

The focus of the research is the integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM) with dynamic database in order to provide a powerful instrument to control the variables of Facility Management, Operation and Maintenance (FM-O&M) field. The paper underlines the results of a theoretical and practical study about BIM and FM integration in the Public Administration field, combining the main benefits of information storage offered by database application with the advantages of Building Information Modelling. The analysis is performed on a building portfolio of 450 public assets and develops a replicable procedure that implements innovative tools and methods to manage the variety of processes within the built environment.
