ABSTRACT

This research focuses on a method that will simplify the management of buildings. This will be demonstrated through detailed analysis of state of the art BIM applied to facility management in the Italian context and identification of the critical points of the most commonly used facility management software. Smart solutions to create intelligent buildings are proposed through Bluetooth technology which allow us to communicate the data of BIM model to insiders involved in maintenance and vice-versa. An online platform, working with machine learning algorithms, could be the central point of communication of data and could make the ticketing process easier and faster, one of the core and complex tasks of facility management systems. This research will also show that wireless or Bluetooth beacons could have a key role in this process and if applied on a large scale could create smart cities with secure communication of large amounts of data.
