ABSTRACT
Standards are unifying solutions for recurring problems or tasks. They are established on the basis of current technological, scientific, and economic circumstances. Though there is usually no legal obligation to follow the rules of standards, most are still met worldwide. At first sight, it seems to be astonishing that standards obviously rely on voluntariness and are still accepted worldwide.
