ABSTRACT

In spite of its short history, the Internet has changed the world with regards to information resources, communication, and culture. Though it emerged from governmental and scientific institutions, the Internet has become one of the most popular and powerful media of our time. These who initially appreciated the possibilities of the web, are now reaping the reward of their investment. As anticipated, successfully trading on the Internet is not so easy. Simply being in the web environment without a properly prepared strategy, good promotion, and advertising is definitely not enough and could even be construed as risky. The wrong strategy and incorrect decisions concerning the Internet may bring irreversible results. The greatest Internet advantage is its most dangerous trap for businessmen: both the speed of access to resources and information processing and the flow of those resources between the customers and trade partners. Paradoxically, it is safer for a firm not to be in involved in the Internet at all than to come to the Internet ill prepared.
