ABSTRACT

There are very few possibilities to identify the effort produced locally by a muscle or to identify the intensity of the force applied on a joint. In the laboratory it is possible to realize more or less accurate simulations, but in the field the ergonomist is particularly powerless. In view of the increase of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) recognized by insurance companies, it has become imperative to be able to determine a scale of efforts generated by each task for each high-risk joint. The ergonomic diagnosis must integrate this analysis, which allows the detection of high-risk situations and shows the importance of constraints imposed on the musculoskeletal system.
