O At present, no widely accepted classification of methods exists. The various methods may be targeted at different configuration aspects of the software.
O It appears to be difficult to compare the, in part, opposingly heterogeneous methods with one another. They use varying data collection techniques and differ in their degree of formalism and in their theoretical basis.
