ABSTRACT

Ergonomics is defined as using knowledge of human abilities and limitations to the design of systems, organizations, jobs, machines, tools, and consumer products for the safe, efficient and comfortable human use (Helander 1997). The focus of the ergonomic design is always on optimizing its quality. As a powerful quality engineering and robust design tool, the Taguchi method can serve as a practical tool for designers of ergonomic systems to optimize quality.
