ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION Architectural design integrates the process flows, equipment flows, personnel flows, and mechanical systems into an operating cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

The architect must clearly understand the people, product, and process flows of the facility, as well as the manufacturing goals, to make the two-dimensional flow diagrams into a three-dimensional building that works efficiently, meets cGMPs and other compliance issues, embodies Good Design Practices, and creates a positive workplace for the employees, as well as, creating an efficient facility whose output is a regulated product.
