With the fast development of information technology (IT) in the last 10 years, the learning approaches and behaviors of students have significantly changed. It is very critical for university teachers harnessing IT effectively to improve the learning performance of the students. Based on literature review on IT and learning performance, this paper conducts questionnaire survey to the construction management students with the aim of investigating the influence of IT on learning performance. It was found that more than half of the university students spend over 6 hours a day on handling IT data. The most popular IT software/tools used by the students in learning are intelligent technology and internet. The most significant influences of IT on learning were accelerating the change of learning style and promoting the collaborative learning with classmates.
