ABSTRACT
Ornamental plants have attracted increasing attention recently, and it is useful for the remediation of environmental problems. Generally, it is grown for decorative purposes, as well as it helps to soil for removing the pollutants. Caragana species considered as an ornamental plant, which is being implemented for desertified land restoration. Many heavy metals such as cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), chromium (Cr), and mercury (Hg) have been considered as key environmental pollutants, and their accumulation in soils is the major concern owing to their detrimental effects on crop growth and production. The Caragana plant could be used as a phytoremediator and would be helpful for environmental stabilization. In this chapter, we summarized the current research on the Caragana plant, especially its positive role in stabilizing the environment.
