ABSTRACT

Pediatric organ transplant recipients (OTRs) have many cutaneous eruptions as a consequence of their transplants and immunosuppression. Skin infections (particularly viral infections) and medication-induced mucocutaneous changes are common in this population. Skin cancer and atopic dermatitis may increase after transplantation, as well. Pediatric OTRs also have temporary and permanent visible sequelae of their surgery (such as alopecia and scarring). They rarely develop graft versus host disease. Coordination of care for these complex patients is particularly important.
