ABSTRACT
Biomedical entity identification is an essential step for any biomedical natural language processing system. This paper presents a survey on biomedical entity identification with various community challenges. This paper also includes comparison of techniques proposed in the literature for biomedical entity identification. Combined approaches based on neural network and sequential machine learning methods are outperforming other techniques on various biomedical entity recognition datasets.
