ABSTRACT

In order to provide dynamic risk-based navigation strategy for the intelligent ships during navigation process, a four-stage decision-making model is proposed based on fuzzy logic. The model is constructed according to the characteristics of the inland traffic separation schemes and can be applied to the intelligent navigation of ships. The purpose of the model is to develop the safe navigation decision-making system and provide decision support during navigation process. The dynamic characteristics of ship navigation, including speed, distance and traffic flow of the own ship and target ship in the same and opposition lanes, are comprehensively considered. Finally, comparing the inferred result of the model with the actual ship overtaking case, the model is proved to be reasonable, which indicates the model can be used for navigation strategy selection of intelligent ships.
